Our Evening Getaway

With the weather being so hot we keep the blinds all shut, trying to help the air conditioners in cooling the motor home. By the end of the day I'm feeling bit confined. So, braving the heat and humidity (still 95 degrees at 10 pm), we have gone several times to a nearby swampy area to get a bit of outside time. I try to keep a close eye on Elle and keep her away from the water so as to keep her from becoming a 'gator snack and out of the brush (snakes) and she seems to enjoy being out, too.

I just wish I could share the sounds we hear and the hot, damp air around us, the beads of sweat running down your body making you think it's one of the multitude of bugs crawling where you don't want them to be!

I was taking a picture of the lilies and realized there was a bird in the viewfinder. It blended so well with the rocks that I hadn't seen it until I zoomed in .

HUGE lily pads!

George enjoying the boardwalk.

Goodnight, Sun. See you in the morning.

Oh..I remember those "beads of sweat running down your body making you think it's one of the multitude of bugs crawling where you don't want them to be!" ICK!!

However, I am glad to see your adventures into the areas you go...every place has a beauty and history to be explored!

Wow! Those are some beautiful photos. I really like that picture of Dad.

I think I'll let you enjoy the sticky sweat. I'm not much of a humidity girl. Give me good, dry heat. I'd love to visit there though.

That's a nice looking pier there ... any fish?

I'm sure there are fish in there. We saw bait containers and fish line, but we haven't been there when the fisherman are fishing.
