St. Paul, Happenings

Some of the goings on while we were at the Balsbaughs'.

This water tower is located near Messiah Episcopal Church (photo below), which we enjoyed attending twice while we were in St. Paul. The tower is open to the public twice a year and we were able to walk to it after church. The climb to the top wasn't so bad and the view was fantastic! The photo of the church was taken from the tower. Also visible were Minneapolis and St. Paul.
After the tower tour we had a picnic in the park .....

...then a walk through a street fair...

.... where Jon was looking for some art work for his office. He later found a nice piece of pottery at a different vendor booth.

Storm clouds, complete with the warning siren and instructions from the children that we needed to go in the house.
And after the storm, Anna looked out for Grampy while he tended the BBQ.

Rocking out at the Children's Museum.

More fun at the Museum. It is a very nice place to take children.

Lunch at the Mall of America

An evening walk in Jon's neighborhood to see.....

...the newly finished tree stump art.

The artist is in the background. While visiting with him we learned that he spent time in Eugene, Oregon, learning the art of tree stump carving.

Small world. We also watched a glass blower at the street fair who studied his craft in Eugene. No surprise that they studied in Oregon, just surprising that we crossed paths with them within a week.

Backyard building project.
Indoor building project...Anna's learning to sew.
Stripping three layers of paint from a beautiful oak living room door.
In with the new refrigerator......
...out with a load of basement remodeling leavings.
And I sure did enjoy all those little visitors!
Blessings, St. Paul Family.
