Connecticut

Traveling north from Kentucky....had a wonderful time with the Flora part of the family in Ohio, and then moved towards Connecticut.

Paulee is proving herself to be a great little traveler and has her favorite places to ride. She like our laps, but when it's cold and the furnace is on, she knows where all the heat vents are and snuggles up beside whichever one is closest to one of us.

We made a quick stop in Wheeling, WV, to pick up a table that needed to move west.

Arriving in Pomfret, CT, we were blessed to find an RV park that is open year round! We stayed here in 2006 and it's only 12 miles form the mill. God provides.

Grandkids, 

Paulee would have loved to take you to her favorite place 

along the river at the RV park. 

We called it Paulee's Beach. 

She's looking at it , over in the top left corner of the photo.

There were a couple of little ponds on Paulee's Beach 
where she learned to ice skate 
and she even played some ice hockey.

Hockey stick in her mouth wasn't working out so well....

...she decided it was easier to bat the puck (aka rock) around with her feet.
She's not ready to turn pro yet, but she certainly enjoyed the game.

It made Paulee's middle-of-the-night outings enjoyable.

 We were in a rural part of Connecticut, scenic even with all the trees being bare.

Lots of opportunities to enjoy my fascination with the beautiful old stone fences that are everywhere!

                                   

It wasn't hard to imagine the furtive Patriots and the bright red coats of the British soldiers making their way through woods like these.

An old tree; could there be musket balls lodged somewhere in that gnarled beauty ?

                                       

And tucked into the woods and stone fences
we discovered this amazing old farmhouse.

"Our" little part of Connecticut surrounded us with quiet, rural New England beauty.

Backing Up

We had work in Kentucky before our stay in Ohio, so this post is a "back up".

We drove out through some very rural Kentucky countryside one day;
this old house was my favorite "find".

Best RV Park in the Nation

When work gets rescheduled it sure is nice to have a place to pass the time where there is family close!

We think this is the best RV park around.

 Paulee loves it here......

This is what she gets to watch out the window.

After being here three weeks, she knows to watch for Kay around 8:30 and gets so excited when she drives up to feed the "livestock" before work. 

George takes her out to say hello.

 And in the evenings she has Moose and Malone to play with;

wild and crazy times!

 a good time with lots of family.

Thirty plus years between these photos and they still enjoy being together : )

Almost scary how much alike they are sometimes!

Paulee Learning to Help

For the Grandkids.... 

I thought you might like to see how Paulee is learning to "help".

 She likes to help with the ice cream,

 and helps Grampy take his glasses off.

She helps me navigate ...

 and tie my shoes,

do my computer work,

and fold the laundry.

Grampy gets help with his coveralls,

working on the motor home engine,

and building a shelf for Grammy's computer.

She's doing pretty good, don't you think?
